Rockin Raw Recipes to (un)Cook
17 Aug 2010

Dear Vegan at Heart,

This week your mission is to check out a few raw food recipes to uncook.

During a summer of record-breaking heat, the LAST thing you want to do in mid-August is turn on the stove and cook. But you gotta eat, and salads are lovely, but one cannot live on salads alone.

Let's take a page from our raw friends' book and get creative without cooking. Here are a few recipes that are super easy to make and won't leave you schvitzing in the kitchen.

zucchini alfredoLast week, I included the Unfood blog in our Vegan at Heart reader roundup. Did you see this zucchini alfredo recipe? (Scroll down past the grawnola.) Bella, bella!

A quick scan of rawpeople.com led me to these two delectable bits:

sunny carrot soupI wish someone were offering me some of these sunny carrot soup samples that I found on From SAD to Raw. Best part: no simmering required!

superguacAlso on that site: SuperGuac! Guacamole with extra omega-3 health benefits. Ka-pow!

raw choccie cupcakesGod bless Heather Pace and her Sweetly Raw blog for giving us cupcakes without running the risk of stove-induced heatstroke. Aren't these raw choccie cupcakes cuuuute? Who da widdle waw cupcake? You are! You are!

lime puddingTwins Michelle and Lori put a lime pudding recipe on their pure2raw blog that looks too simple and refreshing not to try.

See one that intrigues you? Print out the recipe and add the ingredients to your shopping list.

Now get into the kitchen and chill out!

Your fan,
Marisa
